Enola Holmes

Hey guys and gals and furry pals! (Ok, that was weird. Sorry.)
So, I just watched Enola Holmes, a new movie on Netflix. And I find myself thoroughly enthralled. (P.S. Sorry for all the big words to come. That’s how I write when I’m excited.)

Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes

I am nowhere near as brilliant as Enola, nor as pretty or resourceful. But I do have a creative mind which constantly yearns for new knowledge. Perhaps that is why I loved the movie so much. Sherlock Holmes has always been an inspiration to me, despite being a fictional character. I want to write like Sir Conan Doyle. Intrigue and espionage, facts and mystery… I find it all so extremely fascinating. I can only dream of being such an exquisite writer. Plus, it’s set in 19th century England, so OF COURSE it’s flippin’ awesome.

Enola is a beautiful girl who lives with her mother, until her mother disappears. Enola’s brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, come to try to solve the mystery. However, Mycroft has plans for Enola that she does not agree with. So she runs away in boy’s clothes, which leads her to meeting Tewkesbury, my favorite character. Tewkesbury is a clever boy running away from his would-be murderer. When Enola gets caught up in the drama, she is decidedly less than thrilled. But alas, she grows to like him, which leads her into a mess of problems to help him escape.

Enola and Tewkesbury

That’s all I’m going to say, because I don’t want to spoil anything. But oh my word, go watch the movie. It is NOT a waste of time. I am still enthralled in the story nearly half an hour after watching it!

Personally, as a young girl with a dangerous world awaiting her, I would love to be like Enola Holmes. She makes it work when life gets hard, and she never gives up. I am easily hurt by the world, but I will try to get back up. Not because it is what Enola Holmes did, but because it is what I want to do. Get back up and keep fighting for what matters.

Here’s the trailer, if you think you might be interested in watching it. But I swear, it’s wonderful. Not a waste of time at all. 😀

I know this was a short blog, but I was dying to make it. I’m really tired at the time of writing this, so I’m sorry if it’s not perfect. Thanks for reading! I will definately include this movie review in a future post I’m working on, so don’t despair. You’ll hear about this again. 😉

♡, Shortie
