Drummer Boy

This post is actually quite old, and is something I just never got around to publishing. But it remains true. This night is also the reason that I grew in my friendships, and thanks to this party, I now know one of my favorite people in the world. Here ya go:

I went to my first teenage party today. It was at a skating rink. (No alcohol and junk, just teenagers hanging out and skating.) Not going to lie, I think it might have been my best night ever. I strengthened a few friendships and proved myself to be a mystery. I’m normally a klutz- but I can skate pretty decently. It’s definately the most fun I’ve had in ages. All the guys were trying to be showoffs, but they really didn’t take the time to figure out skating. Or stopping. It was hilarious. But also really fun to see. One minute they’d be bragging and speeding along, and then they’d fall over. There was one guy there wearing a white t-shirt and he made me laugh so hard. He was skating with his feet super far apart. I really wanted to teach him how to skate but I didn’t want to seem like a know-it-all. Skating is just one of those things that I’ll always love. I’m not particularly good at it, but it brings me joy. Especially when I’m hanging out with my friends. We were holding hands and skating in a line, and I don’t know how I avoided making a crash pile.
Happy birthday, Drummer Boy, and thank you. You were the reason for my best night ever.

♡, Shortie
